Cleaning Your Exhaust Fans

cleaning exhaust fan

When is the last time you cleaned your bathroom or kitchen exhaust fans? They do an important job of reducing humidity and circulating fresh air. If you run them frequently and haven’t cleaned them in a while, chances are they need a good cleaning. Too much built up dust will result in the fan not working efficiently, and can lead to the motor burning out before its time.

Most have removable covers that you can wipe clean. It may take some dish soap to loosen grease and grime. Next, use your vacuum hose attachment to vacuum  dust and cob webs from the fan and blades. In some cases, you can use a soft brush to clean out the exhaust pipe or to loosen particles so they can vacuum out more easily.
