There are a lot of reasons people don’t get organized, but lack of time is at the top of the list. Procrastination is another top reason. Most people have good intentions of getting to it, but it can feel overwhelming. It’s hard to get motivated, especially when people think they can do it themselves and don’t want to pay a professional organizer. While it’s true that anyone can take time to organize problem areas, lack of motivation plays a major role. When they make the decision to hire a professional organizer, they want to get their money’s worth and that can be motivating. However, once the clutter starts to disappear, the real motivation is in the results that they can see, smell, and feel! I see this over and over again when I work with people to tackle big projects.
