What is Small Business Saturday?
Small Business Saturday started a few years ago as an attempt to encourage and lift up small businesses that are the fabric of every community. It’s a day to remind people that it’s critical they shop local and shop small. It’s a day to keep money in our local communities. Many businesses offer special deals. This year our small and local businesses need us more than ever. While COVID will prevent some things from happening, the Hutchinson Chamber along with Chamber Board Members, Think Local Committee, and Ambassadors are planning to go out on November 28th and give out over $3,500 to local shoppers.
Not from Hutch? Either plan to come her to shop that day or check with your local chamber to see if they have some fun things planned for the day too!
Why is Shopping on Small Business Saturday Important?
It’s small businesses owners who cater to the unique needs of their customers, support non-profits, train employees, bring new trends to town, pay taxes to further infrastructure and more, all while being able to call people by name and ask about their families!
Wear a mask and socially distance! The go out to run errands, grocery shop, get your oil changed, pick up gift certificates for the upcoming holidays, wash your car, get your hair cut, enjoy a pedicure, eat a burger, order a piece of pie…. it all counts this year more than ever!
