It’s important to start somewhere.
Some people like to start with a problem area. It’s the most logical place to start, but can be more stressful. There’s a reason a specific area is cluttered and chaotic. Try to get to the root of the problem. Is it too small of space for what you’re using it for? Is there a lack of designated places for things to go? Has everyone developed a bad habit of piling stuff there, and it’s a matter of changing behavior?
Other people like to start with a less threatening area, like a junk drawer or book shelf. Whatever you decide to tackle, set a timer and devote the time to getting it done. Get others involved with putting things where they need to go or deciding to donate.
