How do you make school days less stressful and chaotic?
Step 1: It all starts with everyone waking up on the right side of the bed. Start your back to school bedtime routines now. Don’t wait until the first week of school to establish an earlier bedtime.
Step 2: Have a plan for breakfast. Cereal is fast, but if your kids aren’t big fans of cereal, have some other ideas ready to go. Peeled/chopped fruit, muffins or breakfast burritos in the freezer, hard boiled eggs in the frig, and even cold cut meat and cheeses with toast; all ready to go!
Step 3: Designate a place for backpacks, school papers, and other items to go so that you begin the school year with good habits, and nobody trips trying to get in the front door.
Step 4: Use that clutter box. Buying new school supplies, shoes, clothes, backpacks, and lunchboxes means you either need to discard or donate older, excess items. Remember, “one thing in, one thing out” with everything you bring into the house.
Bonus Tip! Consider some make ahead breakfasts to have in the freezer like these simple breakfasts bowls that I (Cindy) make!
Have a wonderful school year!
