A little leftover shampoo combined with regular baking soda will clean and polish almost any hard surface till it gleams, especially chrome. It is great on rings in the bath tub and for scouring down shower tiles.

photo credit: me and the sysop 2 Tbsp. White vinegar 1 Tbsp. borax 1/8 c. Dawn 1 c. hot water Mix vinegar, borax, hot water and then fill with cool water. Add Dawn. Put into a spray bottle.
