To get more juice from citrus (lemons, limes and oranges) microwave for 15 seconds (or drop in hot water) and roll back and forth on the counter before juicing.

I have noticed that many people talk of grocery stores, discount drug stores and local chain stores accepting coupons.  They can also be used at some dollar stores.  When I visited with the store manager about it, she replied, “we accept them, we just don’t advertise that we do.”  If you are a Hutchinson resident, A Great Sale Discount Shop in the Hutchinson Mall also accepts coupons.  It doesn’t hurt to ask.

It’s easier to just toss new items into the fridge or cabinets, but after you shop, take a minute to reshuffle what’s there.  Move the yogurt that you bought last week to the front and put the newer ones behind.  Then, you won’t end up tossing the stuff that gets “lost” in the back and expires. 

As soon as you realize that something you purchased is a mistake, be it food or merchandise, return it.  Put it back into the bag immediately with the receipt and stick it in your car or put it by your car keys so the next time you go out and about you can take it with you.  The longer it sits in the house, the more likely you’ll lose the receipt……and the money!
