Once a month pour one cup of baking soda followed by one cup of white vinegar down the drain.  Wait an hour and flush with warm water.  The combination fizzles away most of the buildup.  Works for the shower, tub and kitchen drains as well.

Buy this……not that

Buy plain toothpaste ($3) , not silver polish ($10.  Use regular (non-gel) white toothpaste to remove tarnish from silver.  Squeeze a little paste onto a cloth and rub gently on moistened silver.  Rinse the item and polish with a soft rag.
