Make a date

Set a regular time to deal with any messes that have managed to accumulate.  Have everyone pitch in.  At our house, we usually set the timer for 30 minutes and all take a corner of the house and pick up, then we do a DQ run, have a pizza or watch a movie…………it’s amazing what [...]

We spend our summer weekends at the lake and do a lot of grilling.  I don’t want to bring a lot of things with me as I don’t have room for all kinds of spices and seasonings.  This is the only rub you’ll ever need!

RULE OUT CLUTTER

Having house rules about how long to keep things makes controlling clutter automatic.
Recycle newspapers and magazines as soon as they’re read.
Go through the mail the minute you bring it into the house.  Stand over the garbage can if you need to.
Post kids’ artwork on the fridge for one week only.

Are your kids accountable?

Make them clean out their back pack each night next to the wastebasket.   Any wrappers, old papers and other debris gets thrown away in the trash instead of  on the floor, their bed or their desk.
