Doing “DC on a budget”…..

Another FREE attraction that I think is often overlooked is the US Botanic Garden Conservatory.  This building is in the shadow of the Capitol Building.  Although, the outside gardens were not the prettiest in March, the inside was quite interesting.  It is one of the oldest Botanic Gardens in North America.  After touring the conservatory, we wandered through the rose and butterfly gardens as well as through trees from all parts of the world.  We wrinkled up our nose at the corpse flower, explored the jungle and viewed the orchids. There is a suspended walkway 24 feet above the ground which gives a really good view of all the plants.
