“Doing DC” on a budget…..National Air & Space Museum

We did hOrville & Wilbur Wright and Kirstenave ONE rainy day out of SEVEN so we picked this day and headed to the National Air and Space Museum.  This is one of the most-visited museums in the world!  We went early in the morning and yes, by noon it was a very busy place!  It is home to the Wright Brothers first airplane (see photo below), Charles Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis, the Apollo 11 Command Module and the space suits worn by the first humans on the moon.  You can also climb aboard a Northwest Airlines Boeing 747 and view the cockpit.  Here Kirsten was “more than happy” to stand by Wilbur and Orville Wright and have her photo taken!
