Do you garden? Should you garden? Yes, you should if you’re around Hutchinson!

Do you garden? If you do, you know that you usually have an over abundance of certain fruits/vegetables at times. Now you can donate any extra items to those in need, all spring/summer/fall long. This summer we’re kicking off a new perishable food program for those in need, called the Fresh Produce Basket. What? Perishable? That’s crazy! No, we believe the need is there, and what better way than to provide people with fresh, wholesome garden produce. So, as your radishes and rhubarb grow like crazy or you have more cucumbers or tomatoes than you can eat, please consider donating to the Fresh Produce Basket. Even if all you have is one or two extra items, that’s great. Watch for more signs, information, and drop off locations. The Common Cup will be a pick up location for anyone wishing to stop in and grab what’s in season. No questions asked! For more information contact Beth Gasser beth@vimm.com (234-9532) or Cindy Haugland jchaug@hutchtel.net (587-3448). Please pass this information along. Thanks!
