Fall Home Maintenance Checklist

Replace the filters in your heating and A/C systems

Remove window air conditioners

Change the batteries on smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

Inspect the seals on windows and doors and replace if necessary to avoid drafts this winter

Inspect joints in ceramic tile and caulk around tub and sink and replace if necessary

Inspect exposed wiring and cords for wear and fraying, especially outside

Inspect any heating device (furnance, fireplace, and corn stove) for proper ventilation; no obstructions.

Have your heating system serviced

Inspect for and repair any plumbing leaks
